Dr. Garner was born in North Ogden, UT and completed his elementary education within that community. He graduated from Weber High School, and then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State College. He then attended dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, NE, receiving his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree. Upon returning to Utah, Dr. Garner began his practice in downtown Ogden, UT in 1987. He built the current Mountain Springs Dental Building in 2009.
In 1982, Dr. Garner married LoriAnn Wood and they have five wonderful children and 15 grandchildren. He enjoys reading, water/snow skiing, boating, movies, travel, and spending time with his family.
He is an Invisalign provider and recently certified as a Vivos sleep medicine provider. He loves helping his patients to feel better, breathe easier and smile brighter.
Dr. David Garmire was born and raised in Roy, Utah and is an Alumni of Roy High School. He participated in both the soccer and basketball teams during his high school years. He spent 2 years serving the people of southern California for his church. He attended University of Nevada Las Vegas, and received a Bachelor of Biological Sciences, and a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from UNLV School of Dental Medicine. He was active in the Veteran’s clinic in Las Vegas, offering dental treatment to those Veteran’s in need.
Dr. Garmire practiced dentistry for six years in Denver Colorado after graduating and has been practicing in his hometown for the last four years. Dr. Garmire is now excited to serve the great community of North Ogden and surrounding areas. Dr. Garmire has a busy family life with his wife, Leah, two daughters and two sons. His kids are active with basketball, soccer and tumbling. As a family they enjoy traveling, hiking, and snowboarding. When Dr. Garmire is not spending time with his family, he enjoys the challenge of golf and running half marathons with his wife.
Dr. Garmire enjoys being a dentist and helping patients feel confident with their oral health. He takes pride in making your visit to the dentist as comfortable as possible and is excited to meet you.
Dr. Shaun Heward was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. He attended Alta High School and completed his undergraduate at University of Utah. During this time he worked as a dental laboratory technician making crowns and bridges. He then moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he completed dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Following dental school, he began medical school at the University of Michigan Medical School.
While at the University of Michigan, he also completed his internship in general surgery, residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and was a chief resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Heward has extensive surgical training in corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), tumors/cysts of the jaws, face trauma, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, cleft lip and palate, face reconstruction and bone grafting.
He is delighted to have moved back to his home state of Utah and working with Platinum Dental Services. He also has a passion for serving others abroad and continues to treat less fortunate patients on mission trips overseas. When Dr. Heward is not at work he enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, biking, shooting, gardening, wood working and cooking.
Born in Santiago, Chile in 1960 and raised in the USA, he is fluent in both English and Spanish. He completed his education in California, becoming an Orthodontist in 2020, and has owned and operated his own practice in Atlanta since 1995. Recently joining Platinum, he brings expertise in expanders, habit appliances, braces, bite correctors, in-house aligners, and Invisalign.
His passion for providing orthodontic care without the distraction of running a private practice led him to join Platinum, where he looks forward to collaborating with other dental professionals and participating in interdisciplinary orthodontic treatment plans.
Dr. Franco is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as an officer. He received his degree in Flight Operations from Westminster College, DDS from the University of Utah and completed his residency in Endodontics at Boston University.
He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association. Dr. Franco has a passion for educating others about patient care and the incredibly interesting world of endodontics.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, swimming and learning how to play the piano and electric guitar.
